AANP honors Dan Labriola with President’s Award

The American Association of Naturopathic Physicians has recognized Dan Labriola ND with the President’s Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to science based integrative medicine, clinical research and as the principal author of practice legislation for naturopathic physicians in Washington state.

The President’s Award was made at the Association’s annual international conference in Oakland, California on August 7, 2015.

Dr. Labriola is a recognized and respected author and lecturer providing education for physicians, pharmacists, nursing staff, hospital administrators and the public. His many publications include Complementary Cancer Therapies, a definitive text for the combining of conventional and natural treatments, co-author (with Robert Livingston MD, formerly Chief of Oncology at UW Medicine) of the landmark scientific paper, Possible Interactions Between Dietary Antioxidants and Chemotherapy published in the journal Oncology; Compliance and Your Women Patients: How Managed Care Combined with the Popularity of Complementary Medicine is Affecting Your Practice, published in Northwest Physician Journal and a regular writer for the On Health column in the Seattle Times.

Dr. Labriola has been repeatedly honored as one of “The Top Physicians of Seattle” in polls of physicians and nurses, published by Seattle Magazine and Seattle Met Magazine.

He is experienced in government affairs including as principal author of the practice act for naturopathic physicians in Washington State, RCW 18.36A. He is also the Co-Principal Investigator for A Placebo Controlled Study of Oral L-glutamine and Pyridoxal-5-phosphate (Vitamin B6) for the Mitigation of Velcade-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy, a multiple (5) clinical site, prospective, randomized, placebo controlled trial in which Northwest Natural Health is the sponsor, with a research grant from Takeda/Millennium Pharmaceuticals.
